The welder trade is one of the most popular courses offered by ITIs across India. It is made up primarily of trade (skills and knowledge) and core areas (Workshop Calculation and Science, Engineering Drawing, and Employability Skills).
After completing the training programme, the trainee is awarded a National Trade Certificate (NTC) by NCVT, which has global recognition.
During the one-year programme, a candidate will gain practical skills and theoretical knowledge that will enable him to work on various fabrication and maintenance projects using various welding techniques. Welders can work independently on any project per drawing and fabricate various structures as needed, as well as do repair and maintenance work. Welding is used in many industries, including automotives, construction, and aviation, to name a few. Without this type of metalwork, many structures, gates, and fences, as well as minor household appliances, automobiles, and even space exploration, would not exist.
Welders produce 70% of all manufactured goods! This data provides compelling evidence of the importance of welding to our country's economic health, emphasising the importance of welding in keeping the nation strong both locally and globally.
